US-born blacks reporting white ancestry score higher on AHPVT than those without. Lighter-skinned blacks score higher on AHPVT than darker-skinned blacks. White ancestry and skin color show independent effects on IQ in Add Health regressions. Ancestry effect persists after controlling for parental education while skin color effect weakens. Controlling SES supports genetic hypothesis as admixture drives IQ differences. NLSY97 shows blacks with white ancestry score 0.54 SD higher on ASVAB. White ancestry effect stronger than skin color in NLSY97 regressions. Skin color-ancestry correlation weak at r=0.16-0.26. Lighter skin links to higher SES but B-W IQ gap widens at higher SES. Colorism rejected as ancestry drives IQ beyond appearance. Outliers and normality assumptions hold in both datasets. Weighted analyses match unweighted results. Blacks with white family ancestry average 7-8 IQ points above pure blacks. White Americans score ~105 on AHPVT vs. admixed blacks lower but above non-admixed. Genetic components in skin color and SES correlate with ancestry index.
