Heavy electric cars are a complete absurdity destroying Europe's automotive competitiveness.

Global car sales doubled to 90 million since 2000 but Europe's share stagnates at 14-15 million. Growth happens in China and emerging Asia not Europe. Europe exports less as emerging markets demand local factories. Older cars on roads mean higher emissions and lower safety not environmental win. Heavy EVs need 112 kWh batteries weighing 2.5 tons costing 70-80k euros with real range half of claimed. China controls EV supply chain from minerals to cells crushing Europe. Europe lacks leadership to reject big-battery race it cannot win. Producers and politicians chase 800km range marketing over real needs. Cheap simple EVs at 14k euros with 150km range and 75km/h top speed are missing market segment. Citroën Oli light recycled EV concept got ignored by industry and politicians. Europe stays naively open while China US Japan protect markets. Impose border fees for carbon and labor costs to level playing field. One joint European cheap EV platform needed now from Renault Stellantis suppliers. Industry deserves dignity as core of prosperity not dirty relic. Future EVs inevitable but heavy autonomous fantasies are delusions.
