Site in Hanggin Banner holds ruins of ancient city with massive coin hoards. 3500kg coins mostly Wu Zhu from Han and Wang Mang's Xin dynasty. Excavations in 2012 found three coin hoards and major coin-casting workshop. 2013 digs uncovered four coin-casting kilns with two well-preserved. Over 150 clay coin models and 20 clay moulds found near kilns. Additional finds include coins, ceramics, bronze, iron objects, stone tools, slag, animal bones. Coins feature daquan wushi, xiaoquan zhiyi, huoquan, banliang, wuzhu. Site active from 157BC to AD23 based on models, moulds, coins. Workshop in northwestern part of site.
