Paris recorded 97 street rapes in 2023 up 5.4% from 92. 90% of victims are women often drunk and precarious. Rapes happen mostly at night in tourist zones near drug spots. Of 36 arrests 28 perpetrators were foreigners at 77%. 55% of arrestees had prior criminal records. Over 10% had previous sex assault records. 20 arrestees were known delinquents including 4 for sex crimes. Foreigners overrepresented in Paris delinquency stats. Recidivist rapists routinely released without real punishment. Expulsions of foreign delinquents increased but insufficient. Vulnerable women unsafe alone at night in Paris. Street rapes occur every three days.
