Göbekli Tepe features large T-pillar structures from late 10th-early 9th millennium BC. Eastern Anatolian Neolithic sites display skull buildings and floor burials. Göbekli Tepe lacks intact human burials despite ritual expectations. 700 human bone fragments recovered from special building backfill since 1995. Bones exhibit high fragmentation and cut marks. Fragments show poor preservation but interesting anthropological features. Bones analyzed via taphonomy, age, sex determination. Results indicate multifaceted Neolithic death rituals absent at Göbekli Tepe. Special buildings suited for ancestor veneration or sacrifices. Human bone study ongoing since 2009.
