Newly arrived asylum seekers register before case starts. Danish Immigration Service decides if case processes in Denmark or transfers abroad. Appeal transfer decisions within 7 days to Refugee Appeals Board. DRC provides free legal aid and representation in Dublin and admissibility cases. Refugee Appeals Board is final authority with no further appeals. Unaccompanied children have special family reunification procedures. Dublin III mandates first registration country handles asylum unless exceptions apply. Admissibility rejection applies if refugee status granted elsewhere in EU+. Appeals against inadmissibility also go to Refugee Appeals Board within 7 days. DRC interviews appellants and writes appeals. New EU Pact replaces Dublin from June 2026.
