Tiye was 18th dynasty queen from 1398-1338 BC. Wife of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Mother of Akhenaten. Grandmother of Tutankhamun and Ankh-sena-mun. Exerted huge influence at court. Communicated directly with foreign rulers. Supported son's monotheistic reforms for throne power. Died in early 60s. Mummy identified as Elder Lady. Mummy found in Amenhotep II tomb in 1898. Chest damage from ancient robbers. Eye preserved shiny with linen pad. Curly hair exceptionally well-preserved with 11 oils. Egyptians used wigs and extensions regardless of status. Husband Amenhotep III became living Aten at Sed festival. Son Akhenaten worshipped Aten primarily. Mummy displays graceful striking stoic queenly pose. Finger placement at throat signifies bent arm of royalty. Hair and nails grow post-death. Looks like Tyra Banks. No straight hair demons.
