MAPT H1 haplotype frequency is 98.7% in PD patients and 99.1% in Nigerian controls. H2 haplotype occurs in only 2.1% of Nigerians. H2 frequency is 1.3% in PD patients and 0.9% in controls. H1H1 genotype dominates at 97.5% in PD and 98.2% in controls. H1 shows no PD risk association after adjusting for age and gender. Odds ratio for H1H1 vs others is 0.68 with p=0.23. H1 unrelated to PD age at onset in black Africans. Black Africans exhibit persistently low H2 frequencies matching prior studies. H2 documented for first time in Nigerian PD cohort. No MAPT haplotype links to PD progression or duration in this population.
