H1 haplotype frequency 98.7% in PD patients versus 99.1% in controls. H2 haplotype frequency 1.3% in PD patients versus 0.9% in controls. H1H1 genotype 97.5% in PD patients versus 98.2% in controls. H1 haplotype not linked to PD risk after gender and onset age adjustment. Odds ratio for H1H1 versus H1H2 or H2H2 is 0.68 with p=0.23. Black ancestry Africans exhibit low MAPT H2 haplotype frequency. H2 haplotype occurs rarely in Nigerians. No MAPT association with PD age at onset in Nigerians. Study analyzed 907 PD cases and 1022 controls from Nigeria.
