Yaho site in Chad yielded partial hominin face in 1961. Yves Coppens named it Tchadanthropus uxoris. Fossil found with Loxodonta atlantica proboscidean. Face broad, short, with substantial subnasal prognathism. Vault high, intermediate curvature between australopiths and later hominins. Frontal sinus expanded indicates adulthood. Tori heavier than australopiths but lighter than later hominins. Sockets large, rectangular like Kabwe. Incisor sockets suggest small teeth, no diastema. Nasal anatomy similar to Solo Man. Brain capacity likely small. Initially thought australopithecine, later pithecanthropine or Homo habilis. Coppens later admitted closer to H. erectus. Most classify as H. erectus or H. habilis. Age estimated 900-700 kya, possibly 10 ka. Prognathism may result from warping mimicking australopithecine look. Site in Angamma Delta with Holocene strata up to 10,000 years old. Delta fed by Tibesti Mountains rivers. Sediments show river flooding and lake wave erosion. Associated ostracods, molluscs, arthropods, mammals reported.
