Zone covers quarter of ring road excluding Krzesławice Hills and Swoszowice. Starts January 1 2026. Cars and vans under 3.5 tons must meet emission standards. Trucks and buses over 3.5 tons banned. Kraków residents get permanent exemptions for owned or leased vehicles. Non-residents pay for non-compliant vehicles. Hourly fee 2.5 PLN through 2028. Daily fee 5 PLN in 2026 rising to 15 PLN in 2027. Annual pass 100 PLN in 2026, 250 PLN 2027, 500 PLN 2028. Fees rise over time to enforce compliance. Affects thousands of non-resident drivers.
