If we lived in a mirror image of our world, the water during a cyanobacteria bloom wouldn't be poisonous, and cumin would smell like mint, says Piotr Garbacz, PhD, of the UW, who will conduct research on chiral molecules thanks to a European Research Council (ERC) grant. The work could have implications for classifying various chemical compounds and evaluating their therapeutic effects.
