Superconductivity possible at record high temperatures?
Go to the source page
Scientists from Poland, Italy and China have estimated for the first time the temperature at which superconductors based on silver and fluorine compounds can operate. The value obtained is close to 200 K (minus 73 degrees C) - much higher than 135 K (minus 138 degrees C) for the previous record holders - copper and oxygen compounds. The research is reported by the UW.
