IFJ PAN: the innate allure of the proton may cause trouble for astronomers
Go to the source page

Can observatories such as IceCube in Antarctica really see neutrinos coming in from deep space? The answer is beginning to come from, among other things, experiments at the LHC gas pedal, where the internal structure of protons is being studied. According to the latest model, developed by physicists at the IFJ PAN, this structure appears to be richer in alluring particles to a degree that Earth-based neutrino observers may find difficult to interpret what they see.
