When one aligns the molecules of a certain compound - tetracene - into the shape of a nanoscale, the so-called singlet fission - a process that makes it possible to extract as many as two electrons from a single photon - occurs there with maximum efficiency, Polish and Taiwanese scientists show. And they hope their research will help improve the efficiency of solar panels.
