"The so-called Western physical features of the mummies from Tarim are probably due to their association with the Pleistocene ANE gene pool. So they physically look European because they have ANE DNA. This also answers the question of why some Ajns from Japan and some ancient Native American skeletons, such as the Kennewick man, look like Europeans; they all have ANE DNA, and the ANEs were clearly modern Europeans.
