Becoming a parent is probably the greatest responsibility that can be placed on one's shoulders. The least we can do in return is thank those who raised us. Lithuanian photographer Vaida Razmislavičė enters the scene. To express her gratitude for all that has been done for her, Vaida has dedicated an entire series of photographs to motherhood. "Becoming A Mother" is a series of photos that aims to show how becoming pregnant and giving birth changes a woman. Vaida photographed 33 women before and after giving birth, focusing on their eyes. "For this photo project I chose a very simple format, as if I were taking passport photos," she wrote. "I wanted to emphasize my model's gaze, removing anything that might get in the way (such as the belly)."
