Despite the government's current push to replace reservoirs with rivers in Spain, the agricultural sector is calling for the construction of more new dams capable of storing the dwindling rainwater needed for irrigation and livestock. With virtually no rain in March and April in Spain (some parts of the country haven't seen rainfall in 125 days), the agricultural sector warns that this spring and summer could boast the worst harvest in 30 years, affecting everything from olives to grains and grapes.
