In 2024, Poland experienced an increase in the number of applications for international protection, mainly from citizens of Ukraine, Belarus and Russia. Irregular border crossings increased by 339%, and the Slovakian route expired. Protection was granted to 98% of Ukrainian, 94% of Belarusian and 95% of Afghan citizens.
