The article describes the discovery and reconstruction of ancient musical instruments from the city of Ur, known as the Lyres of Ur. Leonard Woolley discovered these instruments, which date to more than 4,000 years ago. Lyres were popular in the Sumerian royal court and many have been discovered in the royal cemetery of Ur.
