DNA research from Çatalhöyük: No affinity between buried Neolithic individuals

Mitochondrial DNA studies conducted on individuals buried during the Neolithic settlement of Çatalhöyük indicate a lack of kinship between them. Population analyses suggest that groups from Central Anatolia, including Çatalhöyük, have the closest relationship to populations from the Marmara region. These findings support the hypothesis of the emergence and spread of the Neolithic in Anatolia and beyond.
