The Polish Ceramic Union is sounding the alarm that the ceramic tile industry is being challenged by high production costs and competition from India. Imports from India account for 21% of the market in Poland, leading to unprofitability and the threat of bankruptcy for manufacturers. The union is demanding lower energy prices, market protection and an increase in anti-dumping duties.
