Genetic analysis of migration among ancient hominins: new findings on gene mixing.
Go to the source page

The study, conducted using the ARGweaver-D algorithm, detected genetic traces of migration between ancient hominins, including Neanderthals and Denisovans, and the ancestors of modern humans. It was discovered that about 3% of the Neanderthal genome came from ancient humans, and 1% of the Denisovan genome from an unsequenced but highly differentiated hominin. Some of these ''super-ancient'' regions were transferred to the genomes of modern humans.
