Prevalence of violence against pregnant partner in Ethiopia: a study of meta-analysis and determinants
Go to the source page

A study conducted in Ethiopia aimed to determine the general prevalence of violence against the pregnant partner and the factors determining this phenomenon. The results indicate that more than a third of pregnant women experience violence from their partner, mainly in the form of psychological violence. Factors such as lack of education, childhood violence, rural residence, lack of decision-making, history of domestic violence and other pregnancy-related factors were associated with the incidence of violence. The study's conclusions point to the need to strengthen women's autonomy and cross-sector cooperation to prevent and treat violence against the pregnant partner.
