No evidence of gene flow from Sub-Saharan Africa to Natufians: analysis of f4 statistics showed that Natufian populations (ancient hunter-gatherers of the Levant) showed no genetic similarities with African populations. The study found that differences between Natufians and sub-Saharan populations were statistically insignificant, suggesting a lack of gene exchange with sub-Saharan Africa at the time. No association with genotypes from sub-Saharan Africa: Based on these data, theories that would suggest that Basal Eurasian lines (present among early Middle Easterners) would have resulted from mixing with sub-Saharan populations can be ruled out. Basal Eurasian genotypes, as shown in the study, do not exhibit sub-Saharan African characteristics. Comparison with modern sub-Saharan populations: The study found that modern Sub-Saharan populations showed no greater genetic similarities to Natufians than other Eurasian populations. This is additional evidence that Middle Eastern populations in the pre-agricultural era did not have direct links to Sub-Saharan African populations
