A study has found that ancient Egyptians were most closely related to peoples from the Middle East. Researchers from the University of Tuebingen and the Max Planck Institute recovered and analyzed DNA from Egyptian mummies dating to around 1400 BC. - 400 AD. The results suggest that modern Egyptians have more in common with peoples from sub-Saharan Africa than ancient Egyptians.
